Happy Holidays? But I Don't Celebrate a Religious...
People say Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings in order to be sensitive to the feelings of others who may not celebrate their own holiday. Isn’t this wrong? Shouldn’t we be encouraging religious tolerance? How can someone be offended by a gesture of goodwill? Why do (some) hotels insist on leaving the light on for you while you’re out? Do people really appreciate coming home to a brightened hotel room? Why is there an exterior window for serving customers at Dunkin Donuts? Is that like a drive-thru for pedestrians? Is it so people don’t have to open a door and stand in the warmth while they wait for their coffee? Is it much quicker? What other reason can there be?
